Images have been made smaller to shorten file size
and in some cases only show part of the image.

Step 1.
Now open the .psd file that you saved in step 12 (on the
previous page). Duplicate it and close the original.
We are going to use some of psp's effects on the pieces that make
up the frame, the one's I've used are just suggestions, so feel
free to experiment with your own ideas.

If you look at the layers palette you will see that there are 19 layers.
Each piece, is on a separate layer and includes the 2 pieces that we
lowered the opacity to zero on (the opacity for these layers can be
raised in the layers palette if you wanted to use them).

Although effects could be applied to each layer separately, I used the
same effect on several pieces, so it will be quicker if we do some merging
first, so on the layers palette click the 'eyes' to hide the following layers :-
Layer 1
Layer 4
Layer 5
Layer 8
Layer 9
Layer 10
Layer 11
Layer 12
Layer 14
Layer 16
Layer 19

These layers should be visible
Layer 2
Layer 3
Layer 6
Layer 7
Layer 13
Layer 15
Layer 17
Layer 18
Your image should look like this

image

Make one of the visible layers the active layer
Go to Layers...Merge...Merge Visible...
Right click on this layer in the layers palette and rename it 'sides'

Hide the 'sides' layer
Make the following layers visible:-
Layer 1
Layer 5
Layer 14
Layer 19
Make one of them the active layer

image

Go to Layers...Merge...Merge Visible...
Rename this layer 'corners'

Hide the 'corners' layer
Make the following layers visible:-
Layer 4
Layer 8
Layer 12
Layer 16
Make one of them the active layer

image

Go to Layers...Merge...Merge Visible...
Rename this layer 'diamonds'

Go to Layers...View All...
We now have just 6 layers, the sides, corners, diamonds,
the outline that splits the pieces up (layer 10)
and the 2 layers with opacity set at zero (layers 9 and 11)

Step 2.
Make the 'sides' layer active
Go to Effects...Texture Effects...Sandstone...
Use these settings:-
Blur = 6
Detail = 85
Luminance = 18
Angle = 112
Colour = #796061

image

Step 3.
Make the 'corners' layer active
Effects...Artistic Effects...Colored Foil...
Use these settings:-
Blur = 1
Detail = 202
Colour = #8ce8f6
Angle = 141

image

Step 4.
Make the 'diamonds layer active
Effects...Artistic Effects...Colored Edges...
Use these settings:-
Luminance = 0
Blur = 1
Colour = #058fa7
Intensity = 30

image

Step 5.
Make 'Layer10' active (this is the outline)
Go to Layers...Arrange...Bring to Top...(or drag
it to the top in the layers palette)
Effects...Texture Effects...Sculpture...
I used a preset called Gold which is one I saved from an earlier version,
of PSP. As you may not have it as a preset I will show a screenshot of
the settings and if you haven't got the gold pattern used you can
download it in the materials section at the beginning of page 1

Go to Layers...Merge...Merge Visible

Save as a .psp file or a .png file
For my title header I added a drop shadow and
a picture the same way as my image on page 1.

Here are a few examples I made by applying various psp effects
I hope you will experiment, I'd love to see what you come up with :)
