Champagne Glass Tutorial

Step 1. Open a new image 300 x 150 transparent, flood fill with a dark colour and add a new layer naming it 'glass top'
Go to Effects...Plugin Effects...Dragonfly...Sinedots....
Some presets use different 'blend' settings and it is
I have kept the sinedots shape in it's original colour,

Step 2. Go to Effects...Geometric Effects... Perspective Vertical... Make the difference=70 and the Edge mode=Transparent
Go to Image...Canvas Size...
You should have a large transparent area

Step 3. Use a colour from your sinedots image as the palette background colour and make the foreground a slightly darker shade of the same colour. I used #D0B3D0 for the background and #978197 for the foreground.
Change the foreground style to gradient and use
Add a new layer naming it 'stem'

Step 4. We are going to add a highlight, but when we blur this, some of it may spill over the edges of the stem. To make it easy to clean up any overspill we will make a selection in the area outside of stem shape and save it to the alpha channel.
To do this click the blank area outside the stem
Add a new layer, naming it 'stem highlight'
Go to Effects...Blur...gaussian blur...radius=1.99
With the 'stem highlight as the active

Step 5. Change the foreground colour back to the one you used in step3 (you can right click on the colour box to bring up a window of recently used colours). The background should still be the same as in step 3
Change the background style to gradient fill
Make the background layer active and add
Move into position with the Mover Tool if necessary.

Step 6. Add a new layer, naming it 'base highlight'. change foreground colour to white and the style solid fill. Make the background style null. Use the Pen Tool with these settings Contiguous = unticked Simple mode = unticked Create as Vector = unticked Mode = Drawing mode Segment type = Freehand Line style = Solid Width = 5 Antialias = ticked
You can zoom in so that it's easier to see what
after each line is drawn. It doesn't matter if
Go to Effects...Blur...
With the base highlight as the active layer,

Step 7. Make your stem layer active. We need to soften the bottom edge of the stem where it meets the base. Activate the Soften Brush and use these settings Shape=round Size=5 Hardness=12 Step=30 Density=40 Thickness=100 Rotation=0 Opacity=70 Soften the join between the stem and base

Turn off the visibility of the background layer

Step 8. With glass layer active go to Image...resize... Make sure that the all layers box is unticked, make the resize type bicubic resample and resize to 75% Use the the Mover Tool to place glass in the centre.
Next we add some wine to the glass Add a new layer. Change the

Lower the transparency of the layer in the layer
Move the layer below the 'glass' by opening
Turn off the visibility of the background

Step 9. Go to Effects 3D Effects...Drop Shadow... Add a drop shadow with these settings Vertical Offset=0 Horizontal Offset=5 Opacity=71 Blur=14.8 Colour=black You can decorate the background in any way that you want. This is how I did mine
Change the palette foreground to gradient fill
Make the background layer active and
Go to Effects...Plugin Effects...
Use the Selection Tool type=rectangle
De-select Add a frame of your choice.
